Director of Technology, June 1995 - August 1998 As Technical Director for CIOE Corpration, have three basic responsibilities: keep abreast of all potentially related technological developments; ranged planning of CIOE’s technological future; and act as a focal management point for CIOE’s network operations, network information, application and support groups. Network Operations Manager, June 1994 – June 1995 Oversaw the design and implementation of CIOE’s WAN infrastructure making the company one of the largest ISPs in Indiana. Duties included infrastructure design, purchasing, circuit ordering and the management of teams of network engineers and software developers. During this period, CIOE’s network was not only increased in size (fourteen points of presence), but also in redundancy and fault tolerance. Routing practices were shifted from static to dynamic protocols (EIGRP and BGP). Attended several courses on Internetworking and networking technologies and standards. |
Head of Software Development, January 1994 – June 1994 Designed and coded asynchronous communications and file transfer protocols. Worked on GUI interface development under DOS and MS Windows 3.1. Acted as systems administrator for CIOE’s LAN network that included Windows 3.1, Novell 3.11 and UNIX (SunOS 4.1.3 and FreeBSD). Implemented company’s entry into the ISP business utilizing Cisco routers and access servers. |
